Finally got a W in that empty column. :)

Best thing about the game, our kicker kicked the second longest FG in NCAA history - 64 yds (record is 65)!! Hubby said he still had about 5 yards of air under it!

Woohoo!

Ove (sp?) Johansen. 69 yards, wind-aided, over the south goal posts and up the slope. Would have been good from 75, that day. But, weren't they still NAIA back then?

Russell Erxleben and Tony Franklin shared the record at 67, didn't they? It really doesn't matter. 64 yards is one HELL of a boot!

Yes they were NAIA.
Good point!

Tony Franklin was only credited for 66yards. He actually hit two, that day, against Baylor that officially were recorded as 64 yards and 66 yards. The only human, in history, to pull off the "double" of FG's made over 60 yards in a single game.

Steve Little, of Arkansas, was the other co-record holder at 67 yards, with Erxlaben. The ironic thing is that he kicked it against Texas at a game in Fayetteville.

Yep, this kicker has a serious leg! The kid said the NFL scouts are all over him since he's done it pretty consistently all year.

Katt, UTEP didn't mean to win. It was an accident.

Martin Gramatica has the record without the T(65 yarder), either way thats still a boot either way you look at it.

Didn't Keith Robinson have the record at one point?
