True Grit

As we all know one of our super sophs on the "D" side of the ball suffered a torn muscle in his shoulder 2 weeks ago. This would be #33 Alex Salgado. Well, I was sitting in the cafe this morning and Mr. and Mrs. Salgado came walking in with Alex in tow. Come to find out Alex had a Dr. appointment to get released next Monday, well Alex took it upon himself to call the Dr. office and re schedule his appointment for today so he could practice all week and play this friday. You know thats dedication to his team right there, that just shows you that these young kids on this team already have a sense on dedication and loyalty to the OHS program!! Sumthin I think weve been lacking for a while. It makes me hold out great hope for our programs future. Not to mention I got a free ride to San Angelo from Mr. Salgado.

When Patric went down and then saw Alex step up, I was like u serious? This kid is a beast....I was kiddin with Patric and told him I didn't think he was gonna get his position back. LOL...

Also just for info and I'm not taking anything away from anyone, so please don't attack. Alex went down during the 1st half, maybe 1st qt. of the Coronado game, they scored 40 someting points and then we played Tascosa and they came close too. Alex had his side of play on lock down....It was hard to get around on his side, just watch film, you'll see.....Loosing ALex was tuff, lucky for us he's dedicated to put his selfish ways aside and take one for the team, cuz after all he's just a soph, he could have just waited the year and start rehabin for next year...Can you say WARRIOR......

Alex glad ur back, I know its gonna take a little to regain ur spot, I see it happenin pretty quick......One more thing Alex....QUIT using ur shoulders use ur HELMET, I see you all the time, u like to throw that BIG, BROAD shoulders of urs.....LOL
