It is almost imperceptible to feel, but the tides of the seasons that were first set forth in motion when God passed our molten orb in a perfect spiral from the midst of a star into the arms of a steadfast orbit, are moving to it’s next scheduled event. Summer daylight begrudgingly relinquishes more timely territory to the encroaching darkness, which marks the beginning of that magical and wonderful season, we call football.

Warriors of the Heart

Not long ago, I was speaking with a Permian Basin Coach about the ‘old days’ of the Little Southwest Conference’ and the conversation came around to the fact that kids have difficulty fathoming the concept that we (as adults) once played the game.

It was an exquisite moment to savor.
