West Texas Drillers Football game Saturday (4-10-2010)

The West Texas Drillers (2-2) will be hosting the San Angelo Spartans (3-2) in an MPFL (Minor Professional Football League), Western Division match-up this Saturday, April 10, 2010. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7pm, gates open at 6:15 and there will be full concessions, including beer.

Rough start for Cedric Benson.

Former Lee runningback Cedric Benson had a rough start in limited action Friday during the Bengals' preseason opener versus the Saints. Benson rushed for 28 yards on 8 carries, including a nice little 11-yard jaunt, but fumbled once to end the Bengals' opening drive. Still, there's likely no reason to be worried by preseason cobwebs. I will be MIA at times over the next few months

To everyone out here I will be missing in action for the next several months as we try to get ahead in college funding. I am now going to be working wn evening job at the dreaded Wally world on the westside of Odessa. I recently asked myself why I care so much about high school football. The question is being answered, daily. Things are in turmoil, in our nation. Heaven Give Me Patience

Okay, the therapist in Fort Worth warned us that Squirt's intelligence will make her strive for perfection. Brighter children want everything to be perfect, from the way they talk to their crafts and coloring and stuff. This is one reason Squirt gets frustrated and stutters is because her mouth won't say what she is thinking. They can also start showing OCD tendencies in extreme cases. I think I have an extreme case. Oh joy.

College life

We got back Sunday evening from college station and visiting our oldest at A&M. He is so amazed at the difference between High school and college. He was never a big bike rider and now is riding one pretty much everywhere he goes on campus. I am still amazed just how big the campus there is. Good News, Bad News

Well, Squirt does not have epilepsy! Whoo-HOO!!!! At the urging of, and with the help of, her neurologist, we took Squirt to Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth. We flew up there Monday morning (the 8th) for her appointment. Dr. Malik looked her over up and down, and said he didn't feel she had epilepsy. But since we had traveled all that way, he went ahead and put her in the hospital for a video-EEG. This office is so cool. Hurricane Ike

Well I'll be danged if I wasnt all ready to pack my car and drive down to West Texas to see some good ole Midland Lee Football! With Ike coming into the Texas coast I had to cancel my plans. UTEP vs UT

We loaded up the old (MIL) and the young (the kid's best friend) and headed West Saturday morning to see the game UTEP/ El Paso has been looking forward to since they found out it was coming. Feeling helpless

Hi all, It is was too early in the morning for me but we just got home from the hospital. My youngest son (4 yrs old) had a febral seizure at 5 this morning and let me tell you.....you don't ever want to be holding your child when they are not breathing, eyes rolled back and quivering. Scared the hell outta me! He had come in my room about 4 or so and he had a tummy ache, we had to go potty, then back to bed, then get a drink, then back to bed and he told me his legs were hot.
